@Hauler24 Umm No its not.
Sure EVE is cool if you like waiting 6 months to get your worth while skills trained up and you like PvSpreadsheet.
Played EVE for while personaly got old and found my self just logging on to train skills.
@Darksplinter82 Well its called patience which many WOW players don’t have and it seems ST players now as well. Took me 3 months to be able to PVP properly. Most of the time before that your learning and making isk. I love Eve and will never change. You have to find the right people in EVE in order to enjoy it.
@Hauler24 Totally dude WoW has destroyed the MMO Industry imo. Majority of people these days have only seemed to play wow because it was so easy. Ahh the good ol days of tough MMO’s. Dont get me wrong about EVE Very well done game I did enjoy it but after awhile it got a bit old for me like I said a bit to much spread sheet/micro managing for me. I have jumped back into it from time to time. I remember my first MMO Dark Age Of Camelot. Good stuff there
If you are able to get out to 0.0 it gets very good. I was almost at my breaking point in Empire, but I have moved out to 0.0 and its amazing. So much to do and so many people to do it with.

It does look boring as fuck, doesn’t it? But it’s surprisingly fucking amazing.
For Klingon pvp … put 2 disruptor cannons for your foward-weaponry. When you charge someone, their shields just get decimated, and when you turn.. they think you’re about to run, right? No. You’re shitting photon torpedos. It’s pretty epic.
It reminds me A LOT like eve online the way its played just my opinion though =) but the game looks so much fun
@Darksplinter82 PvSpreadsheet ….. glorious. The fact that EVE PvP can result in being set back on 4 years of work doesn’t appeal to most players.
Is STO all about PVP or does it have RPG aspects to it also?
Is it all about ship-to-ship combat in outer space, or can you fight on-foot?
My father was interested in getting STO since he’s a die-hard star-trek fan, but he absolutely despises PVP in MMO games. I need to know if there’s a PVE-only aspect to the game?
Any info is appreciated.
@Vibrenium The only PvP there that there is is 1 you make a klingon thats the only way you lvl. or you do the Arenas/Battlegrounds.
Other then that its PvE both space and ground elements.
Ok so if you pick the Klingons you are playing PVP only.
If you pick some other type of race then you are playing PVE with optional PVP?
Is that a correct assessment or am I off?
@Darksplinter82 Yes atm the only way to lvl up on klingon side is to do pvp. Federation you can pvp gain exp that way or just do pve
there is i think more of a pve aspect for the federation than the klingon klingon is based more on pvp because of K v T and Kv K
lol dude i got a klingon too but i have power to sheidls so my bird-of-prey lasts longer =P but i like ground more

the website for STO said they are adding story for Klingons in late march.

Well that’s just piss pore, I was going to get this game to play Klingon, but if they haven’t even *finished* the Klingon side of things, wtf.
Sadly the game is not “finished” and they decided to drop certain aspects from the game, right before launch. Played it myself since Headstart 29th January and I’ve maxed level all my character slots allready. Not more then 3 slots but still. However I do still like it since Im a Star Trek fan. I only hope we get more content as the game progress.
Holy yawnfest – and sadly I love Star Trek and have played a ton of mmorpgs … since UO. Oh well – fail again.

The guy here is fresh out of the tutorial so everyone is higher than him in the group.
This is actually a blast as a klingon especially if you have a bop with battle cloak.
The player here also has poor pvp skills as almost everything you see is not how it is/should be done in that zone. Check youtube for other videos before you decide it’s not for you.
If you are a sw fanboy like the one guy then keep waiting for 2011 for your game.
