Star Trek Online

Star Trek Online is a new Massive Multiplayer online role playing game that was developed by Cryptic Studios the same people that brought you Champions online. It’s release date is on tuesday February 2nd 2010. STO is based on the well known series Star Trek which was created by Gene Roddenberry.

The game itself is set 30 years after the events that occured During the  Star Trek Nemesis.

Star Trek Online is the first MMORPG in the Star Trek series. STO was originally being developed by Perpetual Entertainment from 2004 to 2008. In January of 2008 they went bankrupt the project looked bleak but Cryptic Studios Studios Stepped in and had the art assets and the game were to them.  But the Code of STO and the Perpetual Game Engine Stayed with Perpetual Entertainment.

The Official announcement of Star Trek Online by Cryptic Studios was on July 28th 2008.
